Enjoyment with a clear conscience
As a food manufacturer, we have a great responsibility. We make purchasing decisions that allow us to determine under which conditions the raw materials we use are produced. We are therefore participating in globally effective sustainability programs to improve environmental and social aspects within the supply chain. So far, this largely relates to the procurement of raw materials such as cocoa, hazelnuts, palm oil, oil blends, cane sugar, vanilla, and various spices. Any palm oil we use has been acquired from RSPO-certified cultivation since 2015. Of course, we also offer all products free of palm oil. Depending on the dietary habits of your consumers, additional labeling such as kosher, halal, or vegan is available.
We acknowledge our responsibility and emphasize our compliance with the Shared Responsibility of RSPO. RSPO-members page:

Across the entire supply chain and production
Many consumers now pay attention to certified raw materials, but for us, sustainability is far more than marketing. Social responsibility is just as important to us and the basic requirement of all our business activities. Therefore, we adhere to ethical principles. All our suppliers have committed to complying with the ethical Trade Initiative’s ETI Base Code. The aim of this program is to improve the conditions of workers in parts of the world where these rights are not enshrined in legislation or are not implemented.
Internally, we also pay attention to a high level of occupational safety, health, and health promotion, fair pay, and development opportunities. In addition, we are certified according to the renowned SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) standard and are subject to regular audits regarding working conditions, environmental protection, ethical business conduct, and much more.
We also care about the future of young people. As a training company, we offer opportunities for our employees to achieve professional qualifications, which often leads to decades of employment.
Fewer emissions, more economy
Reducing energy consumption in production has many advantages: Modern machines not only consume less energy but also deliver better results. This makes our production more economical, the products get even better, and ultimately even the environment is protected. Our energy management is certified.
One example: At the Winsen production site, our own combined heat and power plant has been constructed to generate the required heat and electricity themselves The efficiency is often over 90%. This helps save our natural resources and helps reduce CO2.
In energy management, we are certified according to ISO 50001.
In 2024, Wilhelm Reuss received the silver medal from the EcoVadis rating agency for its sustainability performance.
